Questionable Passage
"'Yet,' said Mr. Pumblechook, leading the company gently back to the theme from which they had strayed, 'pork-regarded as biled-is rich, too, ain't it?'" (Ch.4 pg.26) This isn't really something I don't get, It's more of a want to know where Mr. Pumblechook was going with this and why Mrs. Joe interrupted him.

That's an interesting point. If I were to guess, I'd say that he is just being a weirdo, or trying to steer away from something. Actually, maybe he's trying to control everyone's attention and center it on himself because he is a narcissist.
ReplyDeleteI think that he was trying to lead the conversation to the pork pie he made, so that everybody could try it and thank him for it. I'm not sure why Mrs. Joe interrupted him, but it may have been because she didn't want him to make a fool of himself.
